1 - 2 Years Experience:Huckleberry New Lynn with Refill Hub, AucklandUpbeat Food, , AucklandHibiscus Films, Eveleigh
Upbeat Food, , Auckland Kitchen Hand 9/2015 - 3/2018
I have had a couple of temporary catering jobs with Upbeat Food for music events. I learnt to be part of a busy and flexible team, preparing and serving meals under pressure and time constraints, keeping high standards through long shifts and catering for up to 200 people. My tasks included vegetable and salad preparation and food presentation, serving diners in buffet style as well as cleaning equipment and dishes.
Hibiscus Films, Eveleigh Casting assistant 9/2016 - 9/2016
While working on the film, 'The Rehearsal', I found that communication and making pragmatic, well considered judgements were a crucial part of the process and I embraced this opportunity. Although it was only for a brief time I thoroughly enjoyed working on a film set and the collaborative working environment.
Chuffed, Auckland, Auckland Kitchen Hand/Dishwasher/FOH 1/2018 - 4/2018
I learnt a lot of valuable hospitality skills whilst at Chuffed as it was a small cafe and we were encouraged to test our abilities in all aspects of the work which included serving customers, taking orders, kitchen preparation and washing up. I found switching between these roles and doing it all under time constraints to be challenging at first but quickly understood what was expected of me and took to this position as best as I could. Being part of a small, cohesive team was a really wonderful thing to experience and I hope to take these skills further into my workplace.

Working part time for Huckleberry and Harvest was an important and interesting time as it was my first job experience. I loved working with organic food and in a business focused on sustainability. The tasks I learnt included working the till, taking requests, stocking products and dealing with the public. It was a welcome change from as well as an addition to school life.
