Coffee training Flight Coffee
(Now based in Wellington) I have over 9 years experience in the hospitality industry, from working at well-known cafes such as Dizengoff in Ponsonby (5 years) , and Sheinkin on Lorne Street (3 years full time). I have also worked for a catering company called the 'Last Supper' as a barista for musicians and their crews before concerts/events. Most recently I have helped set up 2 cafes in Auckland called The Kind Project and Cali Press Commercial Bay. These roles involved designing the menu, designing the in-store layout, procuring staff, creating training systems, setting up PoS, Sonos, and oven software, menu-costing, creating contracts and running social media. I love working with and meeting new people and have ample skills in coffee making (certificate from allpress and years of experience behind the machine) and serving food/ cashing up/ training staff/ordering stock. Dealing with customers and providing exceptional, personalized service is what I aim for.
What coffee machines have you used? And, on a good day, how many coffees can you make per hour?
Can you carry three plates?
How do you like to be treated by cashiers/check-out staff when you're buying something?
With promptness and friendliness.
What qualities do you think make a good manager?
Ability to delegate, set clear boundaries and inspire a team to want to provide exceptional service.
What separates a 'great' manager from a 'good' manager?
Inspiring employees to want to do the work rather than instilling fear in them to do so.
3 words that you believe would sum up what it takes to be a Hotel Guest Services superhero:
Detail, friendliness, efficiency
