1. How did The Milk Crate first come about and what led you to teaming up with Ben to make it happen?
Ben started Milk Crate next to Bowen Galleries in 2005 to simply do quality coffee and food and it really grew from there. I came on board because i saw an opportunity to add something slightly different and work on other projects with our crew.
2.What is it about the hospo world that makes you tick?
First and foremost its the people. You get to have great interactions with some really unique people. There is also such great camaraderie within hospo teams. I doubt there is many other industries were staff become so tight.
3. What do you look for in your hospo staff?
An open and flexible personality. Skills and experience is a bonus.
4. What's your favourite thing to do in Wellington on your day off?
Take the kids up to the Brooklyn wind turbine and look out over the city.
5. When the coffee machine’s closed for the day, what’s your favourite drink and who would you most like to share it with?
Either a beer with the team or a gin and tonic with Esther Daisy. Both is great.
